“If Every Day Could Be Like Christmas” Press Release
Liberty Hall, Tyler, Texas, December 17, 2022
“If Every Day Was Like Christmas” is a song written in 1965 by Red West and popularized by his friend and employer Elvis Presley in 1966 when Elvis recorded and released it as a single. Presley rereleased it in 1970 on his Camden Elvis’ Christmas Album.
“Red West Remembers Writing “If Every Day Was Like Christmas” for The King. Red says, “One night, we [Elvis and I] were in the theatre, and for some reason, the urge hit me to write a holiday song. It was August, and I wrote“If Every Day Was Like Christmas” in about an hour and a half. I recorded a demo with Chips Moman at Stax and put it out locally only sold 3000 copies, so I had Elvis listen to it. We went to Nashville to record three songs. “If Every Day Was Like Christmas” was one of the three songs. Elvis didn’t feel like going into the studio at the time, so I went in and did the vocals while the band played. We had a tape recorder, and Elvis wanted to hear it. It was a two-track tape recorder, and he put his voice over it in the hotel. He loved all three songs, especially “If Every Day Was Like Christmas.”
Stardom Entertainment’s production “If Every Day Could Be Like Christmas” takes you on a magical Christmas Journey of what Presley’s friend and bodyguard, Red West, envisioned as he sat in his home on a hot August day. He envisioned bells chiming, saying Christmas is near, telling the world that it’s the season of cheer. He closes his eyes, hears a choir singing, and feels the peace in the air. He envisions a smiling child telling Santa what to bring and feels this is worth more than anything in the world.
He opens his eyes and writes. Oh, why can’t every day be like Christmas? Why can’t that feeling go on endlessly? If every day could be just like Christmas, What a wonderful world this would be.
2009 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Champion, Bill Cherry, and 2021 Images of The King Champion, Moses Snow, with Doo-Wop Las Vegas Champions, Shake Rattle & Roll, backed by the world-renowned tribute band, Fever the Band, take you on this magical journey.
You will experience the Christmas magic Red West wrote about, and Elvis created with the magic of the song “If Every Day Was Like Christmas.”
A fun Christmas experience for every family member from 3 to 103.
